thomascook.com will send you on some great Tenerife holidays.
This Island is situated right in the centre of the Archipelago. To translate from the language of Guanches - the first inhabitants of the Island Tenerife means "snowy mountain". This name arose mostly thanks to the volcano 'El Teide'.
The history of the island says that it appeared out of the Atlantic Ocean around 10 million years ago as a result of huge volcanic eruptions, emerging in the east and spreading west. This volcanic nature of the island influenced its flora and fauna.
From the plane the island resembles in its shape a piece of irregularly cut pizza. A Mountain chain divides Tenerife into two climate zones.

The green North here contrasts with the dry South. North boasts its tropical flora and magnificent nature: flowers, plenty of verdure, black sandy beach ( of volcanic nature) whie North has only to offer you the mountains, ocean, bare brown earth, rare wilted palms and the mercilessly baking sun.

That is why Tenerife was once called "Island with two faces".
You will be impressed by the multiformity and richness of this island. Only here the snowy top of the El Teide volcano tower above the lunar landscapes of the volcano deserts and the steep cliffy banks arising from the foamy ocean and stretching for tens of meters, strike with their sublimity and power, only here you will never experience cold and gloomy days as it is always spring in this Island!
Tenerife is an Island of wonders! Visit it to add another pearl to your collection!
